The Templar Poetry Pamphlet & Collection Awards 2012 Rules & Conditions

- Short collections of poetry of between 18 and 24 pages are invited, containing poems of any length or style, provided each page contains no more than forty lines. Submissions should also include Title & Contents information.
- Please do not write your name on the poetry: submissions are read and judged anonymously. The poetry must be intended for adults, written in English and authors must be over 18 years.
- There is no Submission Form; a separate page with author’s name, address, contact land/mobile telephone number/s, email address should be included along with a choice of the anthology Octopus or an issue of Iota with a pamphlet. Safe receipt of Submissions will be acknowledged by e-mail on request & by post, provided a self-addressed & stamped envelope is enclosed marked ‘Acknowledgment’. Results will be posted if a self-addressed & stamped envelope is enclosed and marked ‘Results’. Full results will be posted on the Templar Poetry Website in August 2012. We regret we cannot return manuscripts.
- The poetry must be original work, may have been published in magazines, anthologies and other media; but must not published before as part of a pamphlet or full collection. Translated work is not eligible.
- Simultaneous submission of the poems for consideration elsewhere is permissible provided winning & anthology poets withdraw their work from other consideration immediately upon notification of success in the Templar Pamphlet & Collection Awards. Successful Pamphlet and Anthology poets will be contacted in June 2012.
- Postal Submission must include a fee of £18 made by cheque, bankers draft or money/ postal order payable to ‘Templar Poetry’ or online by credit and debit card. Online payment for Postal Submission is also available via the Awards page on the Templar Poetry website. All Online payments and the safe receipt of submissions will be acknowledged by email.
- Online Submission may be made as an attachment in word or pdf file format and sent to: submissions@templarpoetry.co.uk The submission fee must be paid online at the time of online submission. Online submissions must also include name and contact details as set out above (Rule 3) in the front page of the submission file. Payment should be made using the 'Online Submission’ option. There is a £2.00 surcharge for this mode of submission due to the time and materials required to print and securely bind the work.
- Postal submissions should be postmarked no later than Monday 7th May 2012. Online submissions should be sent no later than midnight 7th May 2012, local time. Late submissions will not be read and associated submission fees will not be drawn.
- The three wining authors and the anthology poets will commit to our standard publishing agreement in which Copyright for all works remains with the Authors, but Templar Poetry reserves the right to publish the work in its entirety or in part by the three award winning authors in the UK, Ireland, and the rest of the world for three years following the publication of the works. All rights will revert to the author when individual agreements end.
- The Judge’s decision is final. If, in the Judge’s opinion, no submission is of a sufficient standard, no award winners will be chosen. Templar Poetry reserves the right to change the Judge without notice.
- Entrants to the awards will be deemed to be bound by these conditions.
